
We want our children and future generations to have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink and to be able to have the democratic ideals and freedoms that our Nation has stood for. We don't necessarily want all the same things, but in general, I'd say we do want most of the same things. I love Mother Earth, "Pachamama" and believe we should respect her more and take better care of her. I'm concerned about environmental issues and would say I even lean towards the Green Party.The bottom line: I am an American.I believe in the Constitution and all its amendments, including the 2nd amendment and think the Dems should stop being seen as the enemy of the NRA.

I would describe myself as a fiscal conservative who is socially progressive and doesn't like big government who intrudes in my private life, and I tend to have some Libertarian leanings, but also some socialistic ones when it comes to taking care of those less fortunate in our community and society. I was a registered Republican up until several years back, then I was a registered Independent (until I saw what that party stood for) and now I'm a "Decline to state party". She is particularly proud of her work at DANY, where she helped to develop and implement one of the country’s first and most expansive implicit bias training programs for prosecutors during a time when the Black Lives Matter movement was coming into the public consciousness.And to answer your question of "are we not all Democrats?": No, actually we aren't. She has also worked on local campaigns and served as a diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant. Prior to that, Joi spent most of her career working in various positions in New York City government, including stints at the NYC Mayor’s Office and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office (DANY). Most recently, she served as Head of Operations and Partnerships at New_ Public, a non-profit organization working at the intersection of technology and democracy to build healthier online spaces. Joi has previously worked in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
